Hi all! I am traveling with my French-citizen spouse and need a Schengen visa. Are family members required to pay the standard fee or is it waived?
If you’re traveling together with your French (EU) spouse, the Schengen visa fee is waived for you.
EU family members (spouse, child, dependent parent) are exempt as long as you’re accompanying or joining the EU citizen and can prove the relationship (e.g. marriage certificate). You also shouldn’t be charged a service fee in most cases.
Just make sure you apply under “EU/EEA family member”, not a regular tourist visa category.
