I recently attended my US B1/B2 visa interview for a company-sponsored conference, only to be rejected in less than 30 seconds. I was not afforded the opportunity to present my invitation letter or sponsorship documents.
During the brief exchange, the officer asked for the duration of my stay. I answered “3 days,” to remain concise but accurate to the event schedule. However, I later realized my DS-160 application, filed by my company, stated a duration of “2 weeks” to account for potential travel buffers.
I am essentially trying to debug what went wrong. Did this specific variable mismatch (2 weeks vs. 3 days) trigger the immediate denial? Furthermore, I would like to know if I should push a new application immediately or if there is a mandatory cooldown period.
