Hey folks, just got my Schengen visa application rejected by the embassy because my passport doesn’t have at least 2 blank pages. I was so pumped for this Europe trip, had everything planned out. Now I’m stressing! Can I just renew my passport and reapply right away, or do I need to wait? Anyone been through this?

Why 2 pages specifically? Is it for entry/exit stamps? Anyway, yeah, renew the passport first. Reapplying without it will probably get rejected again. How full is yours anyway?

Yes, you can renew your passport and reapply straight away. No need to “wait” unless that specific embassy mentions a cooling-off period in the refusal (they usually don’t for this reason).

When you reapply:

  • Use your new passport with enough blank pages.

  • Carry/attach the old passport + refusal letter just in case they want to see what happened.

  • Documents, itinerary, funds can stay the same, just update dates if needed.

Main thing: fix the passport issue and treat it like a fresh file - this refusal won’t haunt you long-term.
