Hi all, I’m super bummed out. I just applied for a Schengen visa through the French embassy in Singapore, and they rejected it because my passport doesn’t have at least two blank pages. My trip to Europe is planned for December, and I’ve already got my itinerary sorted. What can I do? Can I get a new passport quickly enough, or is there a way to appeal this? Any advice would be great! 
@adri_wijaya7, if your passport is still valid for 6 months beyond your trip, renewing it might extend validity too. Pro tip:Apply for the new one before surrendering the old if possible.
This is why I always keep an eye on my passport pages before applying. Did they specify exactly two full blank pages or including visa stamps? 
Sorry to hear that. Yeah, the two blank page rule is pretty standard for Schengen visas. I think you can apply for a new passport at ICA if you’re in Singapore – it takes about 4-6 weeks for expedited. Check their website!
Oh no, that sucks! I’ve heard that Schengen embassies are strict about blank pages. You might need to renew your passport if it’s running low on pages. How many blank pages do you have now?
Happened to me last year! I had to rush a new passport and reapply. It’s annoying but doable. Make sure to book an appointment soon. Good luck! 
Can you appeal the rejection? Or do you have to start over? I’ve seen mixed info online.
Appeals are possible but not always successful for technical reasons like this. Better to fix the passport issue and reapply. What’s your travel date exactly?

Yeah, definitely renew it. I got mine done in 2 weeks with express service in SG. Then reapply for the visa – embassies usually process fast if docs are complete.
Bummer, man. Have you checked if you can add pages to your current passport? I think some countries allow that, but not sure about Singapore.
Renewing is the way to go. Once you have the new passport, submit the visa app again with proof of the old one if needed. Fingers crossed for your trip!
