Hi everyone, I am currently preparing my documents for a UK tourist visa application. I have a housing rental contract to submit as proof of accommodation, but the original document is over 12 pages long.
Is there a specific requirement stating that I must translate the full document word-for-word? Or is it acceptable to provide a translation of only the relevant pages containing key information like the contact details, dates, and signatures? I would prefer to avoid the high cost of a full translation if a partial one is sufficient.
For a UK tourist visa, you don’t need to translate the entire 12-page contract if only certain pages are relevant. It’s acceptable to submit only the key pages (usually the pages showing the property address, your name, rental period, landlord details, and signatures) as long as those pages are fully and properly translated.
The important part is that whatever you submit in a non-English language must be translated in full for those specific pages, and the translation needs to meet UKVI requirements: it should include a confirmation that it’s an accurate translation, the translator’s name, signature, date, and contact details.
Many applicants do exactly this to reduce cost, and it’s generally accepted. Just don’t submit untranslated pages, and don’t submit partial translations of a single page — each submitted page should be completely translated.

It’s safer to provide a complete English translation of the entire rental contract, not just the key pages. This ensures your application is fully compliant and avoids unnecessary follow-ups from the visa officer.
