Is explaining unbooked internal transport in the itinerary acceptable for a multi-country Schengen trip?

I’m planning to travel to more than one Schengen country, but I haven’t booked the internal transport yet. Is it okay to just explain this in the itinerary?

Yes, that’s totally fine. You don’t need to have every internal transport booked at the time of application.

It’s very common to just explain it in your itinerary, especially if you’re moving between countries by train or short flights. What matters more is that:

  • Your route is logical

  • Your main destination is clear

  • The dates, accommodation, and length of stay make sense overall

Many people submit an itinerary with notes like “train to next country (to be booked later)” and still get approved. As long as the plan is realistic and consistent, not having internal transport booked is normal.

This tends to be one of those “do I really need to book everything now?” moments. When you’re traveling across multiple Schengen countries, locking in internal transport early isn’t always realistic.

In many cases, clearly explaining your plan in the itinerary is enough. What usually matters is that the route and timing make sense on paper, even if the trains or flights aren’t booked yet.

Plenty of people have applied with just a well-explained plan and got approved, so not having internal transport booked isn’t an unusual situation on its own.

At the time of visa application submission, you must show the complete itinerary for all Schengen countries you plan to visit, and if internal transport is not yet booked, you can clearly explain this in the itinerary and provide a tentative or on-hold travel plan for the entire trip.
