Realizing there is some confusion about the recent legislative changes, I wanted to share this urgent update regarding the Portugal Job Seeker visa. The scope has been narrowed significantly: issuance is now strictly limited to “highly qualified” individuals.
Further, a major procedural change is effectively immediately: you must apply for this visa at a Portuguese consulate in your country of residence. You cannot enter as a tourist and apply for this status while IN Portugal. So FYI, if you were planning to switch visas after arrival, that path is closed. This ultimately will be the law enforced at all entry points. Just letting you know to prevent any denied entries.
