Explaining Large Parental Deposits in UK Visa Cover Letter to Avoid Refusal

I’m applying for a UK visitor visa and my parents just transferred money into my account to help with costs. I just read that ‘lump sum deposits’ are a major red flag for the Home Office. How do I explain this in my cover letter so they don’t think I’m faking my savings?

Hey! Treat this like a recovery plan for an athlete. You can’t just have the results without showing the training. It’s a team effort—get an affidavit or a declaration from your parents stating it’s a gift. If you show the full history, you’ll recover strong from that red flag!

The UK Embassy does consider large one-time deposits as a red flag because they want to see genuine and regular savings. However, you can explain this easily in your cover letter by mentioning that your parents transferred this amount to support your trip. You should also attach their bank statement showing the same transfer and a short sponsorship letter from them.

When the source of money is clearly explained with proof, it does not negatively affect your visa application.
