Entering Argentina with Indian passport and valid US H1B visa for upcoming Patagonia trip

Hi everyone, logic check needed urgently.

Me and a friend have a trip to Patagonia coming up in just a few weeks — we are really eager to get out there. The issue is, we are running a bit late on the documentation side. We both hold Indian passports with valid US H1B visas.

We know the standard tourist visa might take too long to process (buffer overflow on time). Has anyone successfully used the AVE (Electronic Travel Authorization) recently with an H1B? I heard it’s an option but the system acts buggy. We need to debug this before we fly. Can we rely on the AVE or should we look for other options? Optimizing our schedule depends on this.

Look closer at the requirements, my friend. While I usually focus on the history of the pyramids, I deal with visa rules often. You are eligible for the AVE because of your US visa, but do not mistake it for a ‘visa on arrival’. It is a pre-travel authorization. The processing time can be unpredictable — sometimes 10 days, sometimes 20. You must apply on the Migraciones Argentina website immediately. History lives here, but bureaucracy rules there. Good luck.
