Hi everyone, I am an Australian citizen currently traveling through Southeast Asia, and I have run into a bit of a logistical headache. I have an opportunity to head to Germany for a project that will last about 5 months, meaning I need to apply for a proper long-stay visa rather than just relying on the standard 90-day visa-free entry.
I am currently in Thailand on a standard tourist entry. Does anyone know if I can lodge my visa application at the German Embassy here in Bangkok? Or do I strictly have to fly back to Australia to apply since that is my country of legal residence? I am trying to avoid the massive cost and time of flying home just for an appointment.
