🛂 [ASK] Anyone Applied for a Schengen Visa from Indonesia Recently?

Hi everyone! :folded_hands:
Just wanted to ask—has anyone here recently applied for a Schengen visa from Indonesia? How was the process? :airplane:

I’m planning a trip soon, but still a bit confused about a few things:

  • Do we need to fully pay for hotel & flight bookings, or are reservations enough? :hotel::airplane:

  • How much bank balance is considered “safe” for approval? :money_bag:

  • Is it faster through VFS or applying directly at the embassy? :three_o_clock:

Would really appreciate your tips and experiences! Thanks a lot :raising_hands::sparkles:

Hey! @putra.andalas A quick summary from my side :backhand_index_pointing_down:

  • Flights & hotels:
Reservations are usually enough - flight itinerary + hotel bookings (refundable / pay-at-hotel is fine). No need to fully pay non-refundable tickets before visa.

  • Bank balance:
Roughly €70 - €100 per day per person + some extra buffer. For a 10-day trip, I’d feel safe showing around €1,000 - €1,500+ in a stable balance, plus any savings/FDs.

  • VFS vs Embassy:
In Indonesia you normally apply via VFS anyway - they just collect documents. The embassy/consulate makes the decision, so processing speed depends on the country, not VFS itself.
