Hi everyone, I am an Indian citizen currently living and working in Jordan as a software engineer. I’m planning to visit Canada for about a month to see some friends and do a bit of sightseeing.
I’m a bit confused about the logistics. Since I am an Indian passport holder, should I apply for the TRV (Visitor Visa) from here in Jordan, or is it better/safer to go back to India and apply from there? I’ve heard mixed things about rejection rates.
Also, for the documents, besides the usual bank statements, what should I focus on to prove I will return to Jordan? Any advice on current timelines would be great too!
You can apply from Jordan — there’s no need to return to India just to apply. Applying from your country of legal residence is normal and doesn’t automatically increase rejection risk.
What matters most is proving strong ties to Jordan, not where you submit:
Valid Jordan residence/work permit
Employment letter + approved leave
Recent payslips / contract
Proof you live there (lease, bills if available)
Bank statements help, but job stability and legal status are more important.
Timelines vary, usually weeks to a few months. Biometrics can be done locally if there’s a VAC nearby.
